Johnnie joined La Fosse London in 2013. After spending four years building out La Fosse’s Interim and Private Equity Capabilities to be market-leading across the UK and Europe, he moved to New York in Autumn 2018 to lead La Fosse Associates’ expansion into the US’s East Coast.
As Johnnie has been building partnerships with both start-ups and major corporates in New York for several years, it was a natural step to get a man – and an office – on the ground to better support our US clients. He has extensive experience partnering with clients to place board, executive and advisory positions across Private Equity and Fortune 500 companies, and his core competencies include Chairman, NED & Advisory roles and the C-Suite.
I joined La Fosse Associates in 2010 as the 8th employee and within 7 years we’ve organically grown to over 175 employees- it’s been a fun-filled rollercoaster ride and we’ve been fortunate enough to win multiple awards along the way. I built and ran the Digital Search Practice in London- advising technology start-ups & media giants on leadership structures and talent acquisition as well providing C-level talent.
I’ve been working with US media businesses since 2013 and it seemed only natural to establish ourselves permanently in the US. I took the initiative in January 2016 and spent two weeks on the west coast assessing whether LA was a viable option. The rest, as they say, is history…LA is experiencing an extraordinary start-up evolution and it’s just the beginning.
La Fosse Associates USA was founded in April 2016 and I’m responsible for establishing and growing our US offering. My colleague Holly and I arrived in sunny Venice on July 2016 and aside from a minor visa hiccough it’s been a very exciting 18 months. To date we’ve partnered with some of the most exciting businesses on the West Coast- from hyper-growth tech start-ups to some of the bigger household names.
I joined the search team at La Fosse in 2013 after completing a Masters degree in International Relations. In London I focussed on senior level assignments in Digital, Marketing and Product for Silicon Roundabout’s fastest growing companies.
When the opportunity to help establish La Fosse’s first international office in LA came about, I couldn’t refuse. In the summer of 2016, I jumped on a plane for Santa Monica with my colleague, Tom, and have since been building relationships with some of the fastest growing, most innovative companies on the West Coast. I focus on C Suite/VP Level placements for hyper-growth, consumer businesses.
Outside the office I am all about finding local community – two of which are Sofar Sounds (for music lovers) and November Project (for fitness fanatics).
Founded out of our CEO’s living room in 2007, our vision has remained simple; lead by example to achieve a step change in the standards of candidate care within our industry. Everyone on our team has a slice of the equity and this has helped to attract top talent, drive a great team ethic and establish a collective pride in being the best we can. In just 9 years the business has grown to 175 employees and won multiples awards, with HQ in London, 2 further regional UK offices, and now our practice in Los Angeles.
We founded our West Practice in April 2016 and our new hub sits right in the heart of the thriving start-up scene in Los Angeles- our New York and San Francisco hubs open for business next year. We partner with technology giants as well as with smaller, VC/PE backed high-growth start-ups to provide a truly international service. We primarily focus on C-suite and Executive level positions within the consumer, media and entertainment space- operating across all disciplines including Technology, Digital, Marketing, Communications, Revenue, Finance and HR.
